TikTok Username Generator
Type your interests or niche and, if you like, your name. The generator suggests 15 usernames at a time using only lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores. It also works for Instagram and YouTube: switch the platform in the form.
Your ideas will show up here. Fill in the form and press Generate.
How to use the TikTok username generator
-
List what your account is about
A few words are enough: "thrift flips, vintage denim, sewing". Specific interests give usernames that feel like yours, not like a random string.
-
Add a name or nickname
Optional. With a name, some ideas combine it with your niche, like "jess.sews". Leave it out for an anonymous or brand account.
-
Pick the platform and tone
TikTok is the default. Choose fun for playful handles or professional for a business account. Then press Generate.
-
Try your favorites in the app
Copy a username and paste it into Edit profile. TikTok tells you right away if it is taken. Press Generate more for another batch if it is.

What makes a good TikTok username
- Readable at a glance. Your username shows on every video. Use a dot or underscore to split words that run together, like "plant.mum" instead of "plantmum".
- Says what you post, or who you are. A niche word helps people who find one video guess what the rest are about. A name works when you are the content.
- Short enough to remember. If someone mentions you in a video, viewers should be able to find you from memory.
- Avoid long strings of numbers. "jess83920" looks like a default handle and is hard to remember. One meaningful number is fine.
- Same name everywhere. If your Reels and Shorts audience can find you with the same handle, you lose fewer followers between apps.
- Your display name is separate. On TikTok and Instagram, the name shown above your bio can have spaces and emojis. Keep the username clean and put personality in the display name.
When the username you want is taken
-
Add a short word that fits
Try "hq", "studio", "makes", "daily" or your city: "jess.sews" becomes "jess.sews.studio" or "jesssewsla".
-
Move or add a separator
"jess_sews" and "jess.sews" are different usernames. Use this carefully: it is easy for people to land on the wrong account.
-
Generate with a different angle
Change the interests or tone in the form and press Generate more. A new angle often beats a variation of a taken name.
-
Check the other apps before you settle
Before you lock in a variant on TikTok, check it is also free on Instagram and YouTube, so you can use one handle everywhere.
